Superheroes in World History (project)

Posted by Crandall under: Assignments; World History; All Students.

With this project you will be researching a biography of a historic individual from the past 250 years and turning that individual into a superhero.  This is the one project where you will have the opportunity to work with a partner, though expectations will be higher for those of you working with another student.  All individuals chosen must first get my approval and it is preferred that you chose an individual that is outside of American history.  In each class there will be no duplicates - each individual or pairing must pick an individual that no one else in the class is doing. This is the final project of the year, and perhaps the final chance for some of you to improve your grade.  The project is due at the start of class May 30th.

Cold War Webquest

Posted by Crandall under: Assignments; World History; All Students.

The following are a list of sites that you will need for the Cold War Webquest. In addition to these sites you will need the worksheet packet, which you will be provided in class. If you lose this packet you must print another one from this site (file located below).  You will only have two days in class to complete this assignment. Since you are responsible for all of the information in the packet, you will be expected to complete whatever you don’t finish in class in the time you have outside of class.

Unit 3 Reading Assignments (continued)

Posted by Crandall under: Assignments.

The following readings are sections from the text that we’ll be covering over the next week.  In order to post these electronic copies from the textbook I had to save the readings in black and white.  That should not be a problem since I’m more concerned about you getting the information from these readings than anything else.  Remember, you are required to take notes on these sections; the assessment questions at the end are optional.
The British Take Over India
Japan Modernizes (part 1)
Japan Modernizes (part 2)
China and the New Imerpialism
