This site can be used to access the daily assignments in my classroom as well as our daily, extra credit Question of the Day.
QOD
The QOD features a pool of extra credit points. Typically, the pool is 25 points, divided up among all correct responses with a maximum award per student of ten points. If two students correctly answer the question, they will each receive 10 points. If three students answer correctly, the award is 8 points, four correct answers earn six points each, and so forth. I make no effort beyond the lowered score to restrict students from sharing answers to QODs.
ACCELERATED READER
A link is provided to the Manzanita Accelerated Reader book list. I expect my students to demonstrate outside reading through either Accelerated Reader or book reports. Students may combine Accelerated Reader and book reports in any fashion to earn the required 150 points per quarter. Each earned Accelerated Reader point is valued at 10 points toward the required 150. Students are permitted to take A/R tests at several times and places during the day. Students may also choose to satisfy the outside reading requirement by writing book reports using the form available for download on this site. Each completed book report is worth up to ten points of the outside reading requirement. Please remember though, just because you take an A/R test, doesn’t mean you will pass it! Also, just because you turn in a book report doesn’t mean that you will earn ten points for it!
I currently use two e-mail accounts. My school e-mail is tmeadows@kusd.org and my personal e-mail address is tommeadows1@gmail.comI can generally access either account at home or at school, but sometimes the technology gremlins make one or the other impossible to use. I can usually work around the problems one way or another, though.Please give me feed back about ways that I can improve this site. I want this to be a useful tool for both parents and students in my class.
